3D Reflex - Bannhat (HS) - Northbridge International School, Cambodia
Bannhat will introduce and go through a project he completed where he 3D printed a prosthetic limb. He will explain some of the problems he encountered, and give guidelines on 3D printer dos and don’ts. He will also lead a discussion on using 3D printing in education.

Building Bridges Using Social Media - Han Bin, Hanh Dung (HS) EISHCMC, Vietnam

Social media (such as Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr) can be a useful tool for communication and feedback between students and teachers. It can allow teachers a better understanding of students' needs and daily school life as well as helping build stronger relationships.

Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr accounts can be set up for the school's councillor to help students who are in need for advice.

In this workshop we will talk about these uses and help set up various social media groups that can be used by subject teachers in their classes.

This workshop's primary objective is to introduce the flipped classroom as well as to learn how to use technology in a general classroom setting. This workshop allows for teachers to provide more interactive classes, as well as providing teachers with skills they need to encourage their own students to make videos that can be shared with teachers and peers.

Green Screen on a Budget - (ES) - Saigon South International School
A technique once only available to professionals is now possible in your school using very cheap materials. In this workshop, SSIS Students will introduce the concept of Chroma Key Green Screen videos and discuss how to use lighting and camera techniques to get the best results. Participants will have a chance to shoot some footage and create their own superimpositions and special effects.

How Minecraft Taught Me about Egypt - Gabe and Semin (MS) - Saigon South International School
Our workshop's goal is to encourage teachers to be open-minded about the types of assessments they use in class and to consider using a video game like Minecraft to teach and assess. After describing a project from our Grade 6 social studies, where we used Minecraft to construct and better understand the geography of ancient Egypt, we will guide teachers through using Minecraft to create something that would be helpful for their own classrooms.

Humming With the Hummingbird Robotics - Andrew, Jun, Jake, MIchael, Phuong, Willard, Sue, Ben, Karstan, Miki (MS) - Saigon South International School
Scratch is a blocked base programming language developed at MIT. The Hummingbird microprocessor is a spin-off product of Carnegie Mellon's CREATE lab. Used together, students can create robots kinetic sculpture and more. This will be a hands-on workshop. Working together with our students, teachers will be taken through the process of coding and creating a sensor-driven robot.

In this workshop participants will learn the basics of programming, using the Python programming language. By the end of the workshop, participants will have created a basic utility that they can use in their class. A Mac laptop is preferred for this workshop since Macs have Python pre-installed.

The goal of our workshop is to promote educational technologies for teaching and learning. In particular we will focus on note-taking applications that are not only free, but can also be easily installed on netbooks - Padlet, Realtimeboard and Evernote. We understand how hard it is for teachers to organize and keep and organize all of their teaching documents and materials, especially in the IB program. We think that these apps will be very helpful for staying organized and the skills learned in this workshop can be transferred to students.
